Weed barrier, landscape staples, seam tape and a utility knife on a workbench

What is in the kit

  • Weed barrier

Fabric that goes down on the prepared base, under the turf, to stop weeds from growing up through it. You get enough to cover your turf area.

  • Turf staples

6 inch U-shaped steel staples that pin the edges and seams to the base. You get a bag of 100 for every 300 square feet.

  • Seam tape and adhesive

Where two rolls lie side by side, the tape goes under the joint and the adhesive bonds both edges to it. You get them when a line in your order has two rolls or more.

  • Sand infill

Silica sand that you brush into the blades. It weighs the turf down and helps the blades stand up. You get 1.5 to 3 pounds per square foot, by the pile height of your turf.

What a kit costs

  • 15 x 20 ft, one roll (300 sq ft)$633
  • 30 x 20 ft, two rolls side by side (600 sq ft)$1,398
  • 30 x 40 ft, two rolls side by side (1,200 sq ft)$2,343
