Artificial turf in West Jordan, UT

West Jordan (Salt Lake County) has about 114,908 residents. Here is what the local climate means for a turf lawn, which of our nine lines we would pick, and who can install it.

The climate in West Jordan, in numbers

Summer highs in West Jordan average 87 F. That is warm enough that a natural lawn needs regular watering from late spring through early fall.

About 24 inches of rain fall a year, less than a lawn needs in summer, so irrigation makes up the difference.

Winter lows average 24 F with about 82 inches of snow. Turf tolerates both; let snow melt on its own rather than scraping it with a metal shovel.

USDA hardiness zone 7b.

The $10 comes off a later turf order. Turf is cut to your length and cannot be returned, so a sample is the safe first step.

Water rules and rebates that apply in West Jordan

  • Utah Water Savers Landscape Incentive Program rebate

The Utah Division of Water Resources and participating water providers pay up to $3 per square foot of living lawn replaced with waterwise landscaping (at least 50 percent perennial plant cover and drip irrigation) in communities that adopted the state's water efficiency standards.

Artificial turf: Covers live plants only, not artificial turf: the program does not incentivize artificial turf or any type of lawn, and rock alone without plants does not qualify.
