Artificial turf in Madison, WI
Madison (Dane County) has about 280,305 residents. Here is what the local climate means for a turf lawn, which of our nine lines we would pick, and who can install it.
The climate in Madison, in numbers
Summer highs in Madison average 80 F, a moderate summer where turf stays comfortable underfoot all day.
Rainfall is about 40 inches a year. Drainage matters more than drought here; every line we sell has a perforated backing that lets water pass through.
Winter lows average 14 F. Freezing does not harm turf; the blades stiffen in a hard frost and relax again when it warms.
USDA hardiness zone 5a.
