Artificial turf in Tucson, AZ

Tucson is home to about 547,239 people in Pima County. Here is what the local climate means for a turf lawn, which of our nine lines we would pick, and who can install it.

The climate in Tucson, in numbers

Summer afternoons in Tucson average 100 F, so a lawn here spends months under strong sun. Real grass needs a lot of water to survive that; turf needs none.

With about 11 inches of rain a year, this is dry country. Watering is the largest cost of a natural lawn here, and often the first thing a utility restricts.

USDA hardiness zone 9b.

Turf lines that fit Tucson

All nine lines ship here at the same price as anywhere else, $2.60 to $3.50 per square foot. These are the ones we would start with for this climate.

The $10 comes off a later turf order. Turf is cut to your length and cannot be returned, so a sample is the safe first step.
